Robert, for 27 years, was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight of Wickliffe Council, 5405, for the 1966-67 term. At the 1967 Ohio State convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, both Bob and the Council were honored for their outstanding achievements and presented the 'Grand Knight Of The Year' and the 'Council Of The Year' awards by Leo Stark, Ohio State Deputy.

Basic training was taken at Camp Crowder, MO and upon completion was assigned to ASCP (Army Signal Corp Publications) printing plant at Fort Momouth, NJ. The ASCP was responsible for the production and printing of service manuals used throughout the military services. His duties consisted of operating offset and letter printing presses. During his last year of service, he was transferred to the Art Department, where he was trained in retouching photographs used in the training manuals.

• Marriage, 27 Jan 1951, Wickliffe, Lake, Ohio. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. The wedding Mass was officiated by Msgr. William Nash, Mary Ann's Godfather. Co-celebrants were Msgr. Andrew Andrea and Rev. James Costello, pastor and asst. pastor at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.

• Occupation, 1951-1992, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio. Carpenter: completed a 4 year apprenticeship program in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 95, Cleveland, Ohio. As a journeyman, he performed in all phases of the trade for a decade on residential, commercial, and institutional projects. He was promoted to carpenter foreman and after a few years to General Superintendent of Construction. He served in this capacity until retirement in 1992 at the age of 63. Projects throughout Ohio, Arizona, Hawaii included custom homes, educational facilities, hospitals, hotels, parking garages, medical and office buildings.
